Across the Pond

My apologies to Bill Meltzer. I kind of fell off the back of the wagon with posting links to his Across the Pond feature articles. Sorry, Bill! Here’s the link for the archives, which includes the most recent article. You have a lot of reading to catch up on…at least 14 articles.

All-Star (?) Game

Truth is, with my two favorite hockey players gone, I’ve had a difficult time getting involved in the games this season. The so-called All-Star game didn’t help to pique my interest. There were too many first-timers (20) and too many goals (21). Only three plays (during the first period) were worth enduring a very boring game: Teemu Selanne’s unassisted goal at 6:17, 2-1; Vinnie Lecavalier’s gorgeous shot to the right post, where it was redirected by Martin St. Louis to tie the game at 2; Joey Sakic’s cross-ice pass to Lubomir Visnovsky that resulted in 3-3.

Enough grumbling for today, I have a real game to watch…
